Job summary

Police Athletic League (PAL) in New York City seeks Part Time Teachers to develop and implement a broad range of specialties, including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, literacy, and college readiness. Teachers report to the COMPASS or SONYC Director and work with site leadership at PS 057 in the Bronx.

Requirements include a valid NYS Teaching Certificate, a bachelor's or master's in education, and at least two years of classroom teaching experience. Compensation is $52 per hour for 4 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Foster social and emotional competencies and well‑being in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Teach fundamentals of specialized activities to build skill and confidence.
• Coordinate and present a culminating performance at the end of the program cycle.
• Support students with IEPs and follow plans to help students thrive.
• Maintain communication with caretakers and staff and attend required meetings.
