Job summary

YMCA of the Inland Northwest is seeking a Part-time Youth Development Staff for the Valley Branch in Spokane Valley, WA. You will supervise children ages 6 weeks to 11 years, lead enrichment activities, and partner with families to support positive youth development in a safe, welcoming environment.

The role emphasizes relationship building, program delivery, and collaboration with staff and committees to promote YMCA values in the community.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Two years of experience working with youth aged 6 weeks-11 years preferred.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific trainings upon hire.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist or lead program development and activities for youth and families (crafts, games, sports, events).
• Maintain attendance logs and ensure positive participant engagement.
• Supervise and maintain a safe environment supporting youth development.
• Follow safety, emergency and child abuse prevention policies and YMCA procedures.
• Communicate with families about child participation and connect them to YMCA resources.
• Participate in committees, staff meetings, and promote YMCA in the community.
