Job summary

Klingberg Family Centers in Plymouth, CT is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to provide primary childcare within a therapeutic group home. You will help develop and implement individual treatment plans, support daily living skills and ensure a safe, respectful environment for clients.

The role requires a valid driver’s license and certification in TCI, CPR and First Aid, with a preferred bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma plus experience in similar settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or high school diploma with relevant experience.
• Experience in therapeutic group settings is preferred.
• Must maintain CPR/First Aid and TCI certification.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary childcare worker and participate in developing individual treatment plans.
• Implement and monitor treatment plans, ensuring consistency across staff.
• Foster a therapeutic environment aligned with the group home philosophy.
• Assist clients with daily living skills, hygiene, transportation, and personal needs.
• Support families and guardians and promote positive relationships within the group home.
• Participate in recreational activities and safety procedures as directed by supervisors.
