Klingberg Family Centers is seeking a Child Development Specialist for the Extended Day Treatment program in New Britain, CT. This full-time role supports children ages 5-12 after school hours, implementing treatment plans and promoting coping and social skills in a structured, therapeutic setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, transporting clients when needed, and fostering family involvement while maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2–4 years in a clinical treatment program setting preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Obtain and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid (training provided internally).
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsabilités

• Develop individual treatment plans and implement plans with clients.
• Consult with staff to ensure consistency of treatment programs.
• Foster a therapeutic environment and interact with clients respectfully.
• Implement treatment plans and behavior systems in a structured way.
• Engage families and guardians to support client progress.
• Provide transportation and assist with daily living skills.
• Participate in recreational activities on and off campus.

Formation

Bachelor’s Degree

Clinical treatment experience (2-4 years)

CPR/First Aid certification
