Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Juvenile Justice Specialist for the Loysville Youth Development Center. The role focuses on daily supervision, safety, and guidance to youth to foster healthier choices and future success.

The position requires shift work in a 24/7 operation with 8-hour shifts (7:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, 23:00-07:00), 5-day weeks, and potential overtime. Starting salary is $57,772 annually; benefits and career advancement are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in care, custody, activities, or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in human services, social services, law enforcement, correctional, education, or related setting.
• Successful completion of the Juvenile Justice Specialist Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government title).
• An associate’s degree in social sciences, counseling, restorative justice, juvenile justice, child development, behavioral sciences, human services, criminal justice, education, or closely related field.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsabilités

• Provide daily supervision, support, and structure for residents to ensure safety and positive behaviors.
• Maintain constant awareness of residents to uphold safety and prevent harmful behaviors.
• Prevent absconding and protect staff, residents, and the community.
• Conduct searches of individuals and areas to ensure a secure environment.
• Supervise and instruct residents in hygiene, meals, recreation, work tasks and treatment activities.
• Assist in carrying out the Master Case Planning System through documentation, meeting attendance and program participation.
• Use active supervision and least restrictive intervention techniques to maintain order.
