Job summary

Youth and Family Advocates in Florida seeks a Youth Development Specialist (Part-Time) to supervise residents aged 10 to 17 in a trauma-informed youth residential program. You will apply the Youth Development System to identify development areas, schedule chores, and provide direct supervision while fostering a safe and respectful environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver's license with a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid FL Driver's License with at least two years of driving experience, clean MVR and driving insurance.
• Ability to practice self-care and seek support to prevent burnout while providing trauma-informed care.
• Preferred: Associate Degree and 2+ years direct work with adolescents in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise resident clients aged 10–17 in a youth residential program.
• Identify development areas using the Youth Development System.
• Provide direct supervision, schedule chores, and teach.
• Report unusual behavior and use Crisis Intervention techniques.
• Maintain order and discipline with safety and non-retraumatization.
• Lead group discussions and plan recreational activities aligned with development themes.
• Complete monitoring notes, incident reports, and client records.
• Handle intake process clerical tasks for new residents.
