Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is seeking a part-time Youth Development Specialist at the Walt Disney Branch in Orlando. You will support program development, ensure safety, and engage youth through activities aligned with BGCCF core pillars, including academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development.

You will work closely with staff to plan daily activities, monitor attendance and behavior, and provide positive role modeling to empower youth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in education, youth development, or related field preferred.
• Some experience working or volunteering with youth in educational or development settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate youth.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn and support innovative ideas.
• Proficiency in trauma-informed, strengths-based problem-solving.
• Experience with diverse cultures and backgrounds, promoting inclusivity.
• Strong verbal and written communication with youth, parents, staff, and partners.
• Basic data collection and reporting skills for attendance and progress.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willing to obtain within 90 days if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities in assigned program area.
• Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
• Review inventory and request orders promptly.
• Facilitate BGCCF core programs as directed by supervisor.
• Provide active, engaged presence to promote safe and positive youth development.
• Deliver coaching conversations and redirection to reinforce positive behavior.
• Collect attendance, coursework, and behavior data as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and training events.
• Set up and clean program areas daily and communicate expectations.
