Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support Houston-area Boys & Girls Club activities. The role focuses on planning and supervising youth activities, promoting Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character, and coordinating events with staff and volunteers.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and participation in professional development including BGCA Spillett Training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; experience with Children and Youth preferred.
• Commitment to participate in Professional Development Plan and BGCA Spillett Training (20 hours).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities within the program area.
• Support Boys & Girls Club priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character.
• Oversee special programs/events such as Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs.
• Provide supervision to other Youth Development Professionals when needed to ensure continuity of services.
• Build professional relationships with club members and families to advance the mission.
• Maintain records and reports accurately.
