Job summary

The Salvation Army in Oklahoma City is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Youth Programs Assistant for the Red Shield Youth Center. Hours are 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with increased hours during school breaks.

You will plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities that support academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character, while building relationships with members and families to advance the center's mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Previous work with children and youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and stimulates program participation.
• Assists with registration of new members and participates in their RSYC orientation process.
• Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
• Administer programs, services and activities for RSYC members in an effective manner.
• May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of Year programs or Youth of the Month.
• Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Center. Prepare periodic activity reports.
• Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
• Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order.
• Assists in maintaining all storage areas keeping them orderly and clean.
• Reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
