Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California invites applications for a Residential Specialist at the Kona Emergency Shelter. This full-time, 40-hour-a-week position oversees youth in placement, ensures safety, and maintains facility standards under the Program Manager's supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher with experience in social services for youth.
• Associates degree in human services or two years college with youth work experience.
• BA in Human Services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility upkeep to meet program/licensing standards.
• Provide intake, assessment, and crisis intervention for youth.
• Schedule group activities and supervise after-school/holiday programs.
• Work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, as assigned.
• Ensure resident and program files are complete and up-to-date.
• Transport residents to school, work, and appointments.
• Complete daily reports and document program progress.
• Supervise Residential Assistants and volunteers as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
