Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to energize before/after school and day camp activities for Katy-area youth. You will create a safe, engaging environment, guide age-appropriate activities, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

You will promote inclusivity, model YMCA values, and ensure program spaces meet licensing standards while supporting daily operations and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after school and day camp programs.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and respond to situations using YMCA policies.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on learning aligned with the YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized program space.
