Job summary

Youth Development Leader at YMCA of Greater Houston will support before/after-school and day camp programs, creating a safe, engaging environment where youth feel valued and eager to learn. You will build strong relationships with families and fellow staff while delivering enriching activities.

Ideal candidates bring energy, reliability, and a passion for youth development, with responsibility for supervising activities, leading age-appropriate games, and upholding safety policies across indoor

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead activities and adapt to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor safety and supervise youth at all times.
• Build positive relationships with families, staff, and the community.
• Maintain program space in line with YMCA and licensing standards.
