Job summary

YMCA of Greater Kansas City seeks a Youth Development Leader for its Y Club before and after school program. You will lead your own group of elementary-aged children through fun activities, homework help, and games in a safe, positive space.

Responsibilities include planning engaging activities, enforcing safety rules, and building strong relationships with children and families. The role offers mornings and/or afternoons with part-time hours, and benefits like a YMCA membership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required at Kansas sites.
• One year or more of college preferred.
• Ability to engage with and supervise children in activities.
• General understanding of computer technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise your own group of elementary-aged children.
• Plan and run fun, engaging activities—crafts, games, sports, homework help, and more.
• Keep kids safe by teaching and enforcing safety rules.
• Guide behavior with positive reinforcement and respect.
• Verify photo ID before releasing children at pickup.
• Build positive relationships with kids, families, school staff, and YMCA teammates.
• Be dependable for scheduled shifts and follow policies.
