Job summary

Zach Gordon Youth Services in Juneau is seeking a Youth Development Leader to implement on-site programming for youth at Geneva Woods or Cedar Park. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging space and supporting afterschool activities within grant funds.

The position runs 10–15 hours weekly, with responsibilities including family nights, field trips, and ongoing youth support. A high school diploma and First Aid/CPR are required; driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two college courses in a human-related field may substitute for experience.
• Six months of work experience or relevant post-secondary education required.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointment.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running grant-funded afterschool program.
• Provide on-site programming 10–15 hours per week at Geneva Woods or Cedar Park.
• Engage youth and maintain a safe, supportive space for participants.
• Support monthly family nights and field trips, and communicate upcoming activities.
