Job summary

The Eugene Family YMCA seeks an Afterschool Program Leader 1 to join our Youth Development team. You will provide childcare, homework support, enrichment activities, and help children develop teamwork and social skills in a safe, supportive environment.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships with families, following YMCA policies, and participating in trainings. Hours are afternoon/evening, Monday through Thursday 2pm–6pm and Friday 12:30pm–6pm, with site variations and potential

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Enrolled in the Office of Child Care Central Background Registry.
• Must meet Office of Child Care requirements: 240 hours of qualifying experience working with school-age children in the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Provide childcare, homework support, enrichment and physical activities.
• Teach teamwork and social skills to participants.
• Support children as they grow and learn in a nurturing environment.
• Maintain positive relationships with families, staff and participants.
• Follow program lesson plans and YMCA policies; attend trainings.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of activity centers; maintain clean spaces.
