Job summary

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawai‘i in Kaua‘i seeks a Youth Development Director I to lead and shape teen programs across the Kapa'a Clubhouse. You will plan, implement, and evaluate diverse activities, from leadership to education, while guiding youth toward college and career readiness.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers community-focused leadership, staff supervision, training, and collaboration with partners to foster safe, inclusive programs that empower teens and families on Kaua‘i.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years’ work experience in a youth-serving organization planning and supervising activities.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• Ability to work with teens and youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong communication with multi-ethnic cultures and varying education levels.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily planning and implementation of youth programs for teens.
• Coordinate and evaluate programs focusing on leadership, academics, and health.
• Recruit, train, and supervise teen program staff and volunteers.
• Collaborate with club staff and partners to meet youth needs.
• Monitor attendance, report progress, and ensure safety and quality.
