Job summary

YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs is seeking a Youth Development Counselor for Grand Peak Academy. You will supervise groups of children during the school year in Before & After Programs and Summer Day Camp, creating a safe, nurturing environment and building positive relationships with families.

The role emphasizes age-appropriate activities, safety, adherence to policies, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum age 18.
• At least 460 hours leading activities with school-age children.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification required or training provided.
• Compliance with child abuse prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, nurturing supervision in Before & After Programs and Summer Day Camp.
• Facilitate activities and build positive relationships with children and families.
• Maintain program space and complete attendance and incident records.
• Follow licensing and safety procedures and respond to accidents.
