Job summary

Bethany in Modesto, CA is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support youth services across Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin Counties. The role includes intake, case management, housing/resource linkages, and pro-social program activities, all within Bethany’s faith-guided mission.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, 1–3 years’ experience with youth, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and willingness to work days/evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business, or equivalent field from an accredited college.
• 1–3 years of experience leading youth and/or groups.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire.
• Must pass a criminal history screen and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all intake, referral, and case note documentation.
• Provide case management support to designated youth and follow-up.
• Provide community resources linkages for housing and youth services.
• Support youth pro-social engagement through program delivery.
• Assist recruitment to identify interested youth for programming.
• Oversee paid work experience worksites for quality delivery.
• Act as liaison between student and worksite supervisors.
• Complete data entry and documentation as assigned.
• Administer documentation for participant surveys.
• Provide continuing contact support to designated youth and document follow-up.
• Meet with supervisor to review assignments and projects.
• Support alumni planning and ensure effective program implementation.
• Liaise with youth’s parent/guardian to maintain safe engagement.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and webinars.
• Participate in annual performance reviews and Bethany events as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
