Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside in Redlands, CA, is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to implement and supervise youth programs aligned with Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship. This full-time professional role partners with Redlands Unified School District on the school calendar schedule.

The YDS will prepare, supervise, and evaluate activities, ensuring safety, engagement, and productive outcomes across multiple sites in the Inland

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Able to review and implement lesson plans provided by the district.
• Knowledge of youth development stages.
• Early Childhood education credits are a plus.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Interpersonal skill development and maintenance.
• Valid State Driver License or California ID card.
• Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications within 90 of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success: Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development.
• Outcomes: Promote and stimulate program participation with members; Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Program Implementation: Effectively implement and administer services and activities for students; Ensure safety and cleanliness of program space.
• Supervision of Youth: Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior, be a role model and mentor; ensure a safe environment with active supervision.
• Professionalism: Participate in staff meetings; maintain a good reputation and moral conduct; adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
• ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: May participate in special programs and/or events; may be required to drive club van periodically.
