Job summary

The Y is seeking Afterschool Staff in Vermont to support programs for children aged 5 to 12. You will help supervise participants, deliver engaging activities, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment after school, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Start date around August 24, 2026, with opportunities for growth and professional development. Applicants must be 18+, pass background checks, and have at least 6 months of child-facing experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and state fingerprinting.
• At least 6 months of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous supervision of participants and ensure safety.
• Deliver program content in a dynamic, fun, and relatable manner.
• Complete required professional development including first aid, CPR, and Vermont Orientation.
• Communicate concerns to the Y Program Director and document accordingly.
• Collaborate in planning and executing diverse programming.
