Job summary

Greater Burlington YMCA is seeking an Afterschool Staff member to support our Georgia program located at the Georgia Elementary School. The role involves supervising children aged 5 to 12, delivering engaging activities, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment after school hours.

You will work with the Y Program Director, engage in professional development, and help maintain accurate records. The position emphasizes mentorship, reliability, and teamwork within a vibrant community program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and state fingerprinting.
• At least 6 months of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous supervision of participants and ensure safety.
• Engage participants in program activities including swimming or field trips.
• Complete required professional development and maintain records.
• Communicate concerns to the Y Program Director and assist at other sites as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute ideas to enhance program quality.
• Maintain time cards and demonstrate professional conduct.
