Job summary

Breakthrough, based in Chicago, seeks a Youth Development Coach to support the Nettie Bailey Student Achievement programs for K–8 students. The role covers after-school, summer day camps, and enrichment activities in the Breakthrough Youth Network.

You will facilitate engaging activities, help manage behavior, and collaborate with staff to implement developmentally appropriate strategies. Opportunities exist to participate in events and team meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or over 1 year of experience working with school-aged children.
• Proficiency with basic Windows programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities for the students in the out-of-school programs.
• Assist with managing student behavior.
• Collaborate with the BYN team to plan developmentally appropriate classroom strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean and supportive learning environment.
• Assist with data entry in Salesforce, Cityspan and other databases.
• Support with special events and team meetings.
