Job summary

YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the BT Willard North Royalton YMCA. The role involves direct supervision of children in licensed before/after school or early learning programs, building positive relationships with children and families, and supporting growth and development in a safe, inclusive setting.

The position emphasizes collaboration with parents and caregivers, adherence to safety regulations, and maintaining engaging, developmentally appropriate activities

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed child care center preferred.
• Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of a group of children in licensed Before and Afterschool Enrichment or Early Learning program.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and cooperate with parents/caregivers.
• Promote and support the potential of all youth and facilitate peer-to-peer connections within the program.
• Provide a safe, inclusive learning environment and follow health and safety policies.
