Job summary

West Park Y Club, part of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, is seeking an Child Care Assistant Teacher to supervise and guide a group of children in licensed before/after school or early learning programs. You will foster positive relationships, support growth, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment within the program.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication with families, and adherence to safety policies. CPR/First Aid and safety training are required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience with children in licensed child care preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and nurture groups of children in licensed before/after school or early learning programs.
• Build positive relationships with children and engage in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Maintain safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments.
• Assess and document children’s growth and learning, maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicate respectfully with families and caregivers to support child development.
• Adhere to health, safety and program policies and procedures.
