Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required with 6 months of experience as Juvenile Correctional Officer 3 or equivalent.
• Must complete Leadership Core Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced within six months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain State POST certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees custody, security, and care of youth following DJJ policies and procedures.
• Directs and supports subordinate security staff and may serve as Shift Supervisor in the Lieutenant's absence.
• Inspects and maintains security equipment; ensures safety and discipline within facilities.
• Completes administrative paperwork and prepares records and reports for shift operations.
