Job summary

City of Austin Parks and Recreation seeks a Recreation Programs Specialist to design and run diverse programs for youth, teens, adults and seniors at multiple locations. You will develop, market, schedule, and supervise citywide activities and events.

The role requires an associate degree in Recreation or related field and at least one year of related experience; bilingual English/Spanish abilities and proficiency with MS Office and registration software are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Recreation or related field with 1 year of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to two years.
• CPR/First Aid or other certifications may be required for the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, market, schedule, implement, conduct, and coordinate citywide activities and events.
• Coaches and officiates sporting activities.
• Ensure safety compliance for all events and activities.
• Coordinate with other organizations and solicit donations.
• Maintain forms, records and reports.
