Job summary

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is hiring at Montopolis Recreation Center to design and run specialized recreational programs for diverse groups in a community setting. You will market, schedule, implement, and supervise activities and events while ensuring safety and accessibility for participants.

Responsibilities include coaching, coordinating with partners, handling payments, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Recreation or related field required, plus 1 year of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for the education up to two years.
• CPR/First Aid or related certifications may be required for the assignment.
• Texas Driver license may be required for some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Develops, markets, schedules, implements, conducts, and coordinates Citywide activities, programs, and events.
• Coaches and officiates sporting activities.
• Ensures all events and activities conform to safety rules.
• Modifies classes to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
• Prepares and reviews payments and other accounting transactions.
• Coordinates with other organizations and solicits donations.
• Transports and accompanies program participants.
• Provides information to participants and the public.
• Maintains forms, records, and reports; keeps facilities and equipment in order.
• Maintains inventory of supplies, trophies, and equipment.
