Spectrum is seeking a part-time Youth Coach for the St. Albans Drop-In Center. You will provide brief interventions, basic needs, resource coordination, and referrals to youth ages 14–24. The role requires healthy peer modeling and the ability to support youth in a safe space.

The position emphasizes motivational interviewing, crisis de-escalation, and connections to community services. Availability includes afternoons and early evenings with possible weekend coverage and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledgeable about issues facing youth (homelessness, health, behavioral concerns) or willing to learn.
• Willing to learn about local resources for youth and disseminate information.
• Ability to engage and build rapport with youth while setting boundaries.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsabilités

• Maintain Drop-in Center as a safe, clean space for youth aged 14–24.
• Provide basic needs and referrals to Spectrum and community services.
• Conduct intake and keep daily logs of youth and services.
• Provide motivational interviewing-based brief interventions and crisis de-escalation.
• Assist in training new Youth Coaches and AmeriCorps members.
