Job summary

Calhoun County Government is seeking a dedicated Youth Center Supervisor to oversee residents in the Youth Center, contributing to a safe environment and implementing treatment plans. You will work as part of a team, provide counseling, and document daily activities to support residents’ well‑being.

The role requires experience with youth, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage group activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience with youth is preferred.
• Teaching/group management and recreation skills are strongly desired.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with County personnel and the public are essential.
• Valid MI Operator’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care supervision of residents and contribute to behavior planning.
• Attend team meetings to provide input on resident behavior and planning.
• Document residents’ behaviors and actions daily in logs and reports.
• Provide informal one‑on‑one counseling and refer to mental health professionals when needed.
• Supervise daily hygienic procedures and activities including clothing distribution and related tasks.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities and transport residents to appointments and visits.
• Assist with resident intakes, health assessments, and program orientation.
