Job Title: Youth Case Coordinator

Job Summary:

CASES is seeking a youth-focused Case Coordinator for its new Planning Alternatives & Creating Community (PACC) initiative, part of the Pretrial Services Supervised Release program. The Youth Case Coordinator will primarily support justice-involved youth and young adults, aged 16-27, as they work to achieve and maintain pretrial compliance. The Youth Case Coordinator will be part of a dynamic team, including Case Coordinators, Clinical Case Coordinators, and Youth Engagement Specialists, all focused on providing youth-centered services like incentivized work programs to foster early intervention and long-term community success.

Using the Rewire framework, the team promotes socio-emotional development while facilitating diversion from the criminal legal system. Through proactive, sustained engagement, the team helps participants build pathways to education and employment, connecting them with community partners eager to support their goals. The Youth Case Coordinator requires flexibility, creativity, and persistence to effectively engage with the young adult population. The Youth Case Coordinator will work closely with participants and their support networks both in the office and in the community, developing and implementing innovative engagement tactics such as groups, field trips, and incentives. The Youth Case Coordinator is based in the Harlem office and involves fieldwork within the broader NYC community.

Salary:The salary for the Youth Case Coordinator role is $57,680.00 per year.

Shift Hours: The Youth Case Coordinator position isfull-time working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. T

Workplace Flexibility:Hybrid, 1 day remote.

What you will be doing:

• Provide supervision services to a caseload of predominantly 16–27-year-old pretrial participants.
• Conduct biopsychosocial intake assessments and initial orientation sessions with newly assigned participants to assess for needs, review supervision conditions, and create a reporting schedule.
• Consistently assess and collaborate with a client centered approach to determine any goals and/or areas of concern that participants require or request support.
• Conduct individual supervision meetings and phone check-in’s both at the office and in the community.
• Work collaboratively with the team to generate and implement ideas for effective youth-focused engagement tactics (such as groups, field trips, and tangible incentives).
• Effectively engaging and building a trusting rapport with participants and provide all services in a manner that is gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and that adheres to the core principles of risk-need-responsivity.
• Link participants to services and treatment based on their eligibility, preferences, and needs (as well as provide escort to community services as needed).
• Maintain collaborative relationships with community providers and other identified individuals in participants’ support networks.
• Work collaboratively with court staff and pretrial staff to facilitate and ensure assigned participant’s successful completion of mandated supervision appointments and court appearances.
• Effectively schedule and maintain participant supervision appointments to meet necessary requirements for supervision and compliance.
• Any other duties as required by the Borough Director and/or Team Leader for PACC.
  
  
  

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in human services, with young adult (16-27 yr. old) populations who experience substance use, mental health, complex trauma, and/or justice-system involvement.
• Knowledge of community treatment, support services and resources tailored towards youth.
• Knowledge of the criminal legal system, court processes and alternative to detention/incarceration services
• Individuals with lived experience strongly encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to lift 5-10 lbs.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to navigate 5 boroughs of NYC and perform field work in a variety of weather conditions.
