Job summary

Career Team is seeking a Youth Career Advisor to provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow-up services to young adults eligible for the WIOA program in North Central Texas. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on helping participants pursue employment, training, and education goals.

You will conduct intake, assess needs, and coordinate with partners, schools, and juvenile justice entities while maintaining detailed case records and meeting program benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound decisions.
• Must be computer literate with MS Office and able to learn databases.
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base and be culturally sensitive.
• Motivate clients toward achieving goals and meet set objectives.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• WIOA program knowledge and workforce requirements.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, confidential environment.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and case management services to community members interested in WIOA Youth services.
• Complete intake and eligibility determination for workforce programs.
• Assess job seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners and resources.
• Offer all youth participants the required 14 Youth Program Elements as part of your case management.
• Support Youth participants who enter Work Experience (WEX) opportunities ensuring success and employer satisfaction.
• Create and foster relationships with juvenile justice centers and school districts.
• Enter data into Work In Texas and process clients through any participant information system.
• Guide job seekers through the preparation of IEPs based on occupational/education goals.
• Stay updated on labor market trends and best practices in career paths.
• Counsel clients on opportunities, training programs, and other services; refer to appropriate resources.
• Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with eligibility documentation.
