Job summary

Educational Data Systems, Inc. is seeking an In-School Youth Career Advisor to deliver outreach, enrollment, and coaching for participating students across the Gulf Coast region in Texas.

You will build partnerships with schools, families, and community partners, manage a caseload, conduct career assessments, plan services, and support students toward education and career goals. Responsibilities include screenings, enrollment guidance, coordinating work-based learning, and tracking progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human services, workforce development, social services, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with youth, students, jobseekers, or people receiving education, career, or workforce services preferred.
• Experience in case management, career coaching, student services, workforce development, education, or a related field highly desirable.
• Ability to build professional relationships with youth, families, school staff, community partners, and employers.
• Strong communication, coaching, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload, competing participant needs, and deadlines.
• Customer service experience required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain accurate program data.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Regional travel is estimated to be at least 50–75%.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with schools, colleges, staff, partners, students, and families.
• Conduct outreach and recruitment to identify eligible youth.
• Assist with screening, eligibility, intake, and enrollment requirements.
• Manage an assigned caseload with regular contact to support progress.
• Conduct career assessments and develop individualized service plans.
• Identify barriers and arrange supportive services and referrals.
• Prepare participants for career exploration, events, and work-based learning.
• Coordinate participation in SEAL, Summer Jobs, and other youth opportunities.
• Help participants develop resumes and workplace skills.
• Monitor progress and track outcomes against goals.
