Job summary

Urban Strategies seeks a Youth Care Worker for the Refugio Unaccompanied Children Shelter in San Benito, TX. This full-time role focuses on meaningful engagement, development, safety, and daily activities for unaccompanied children, aligned with program goals.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in English/Spanish, has a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of youth experience, a valid driver’s license, and MS Office 365 proficiency. Join a mission-driven team serving children and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 12 months of experience working with young people.
• Driver’s license required.
• Proficient with MS Office 365 and basic computer skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe home environment for unaccompanied children (UCs).
• Provide line-of-sight and supervision to meet ratio requirements.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and compliance with policies.
• Create development opportunities for UCs.
• Encourage independence through learning activities.
• Engage UCs in educational and social programs.
• Facilitate community access and integration.
• Maintain tracking documents and reports.
• Collaborate with Youth Care team and shift supervisors.
• Adhere to Case Plans and directions from Caseworkers.
