Responsibilities
  • Provides direct supervision of children in care and always maintains line-of-sight.
  • Oversees recreation, mealtime, relaxing time, and play.
  • Assists during transitions and movement of children between activities and locations.
  • Interacts with children in an appropriate manner, including during recreational time.
  • Ensures adherence to contract agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensures quality care for all children and timely responses to needs.
  • Provides for children’s needs such as protection of valuables, clothing distribution, and laundry services.
  • Provides reports to the manager regarding children’s needs, activities, and time/location documentation.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following applicable standards of care.
  • Notifies supervisor of medical concerns related to assigned children.
  • Attends appropriate internal and external meetings.
  • Able to evacuate at short notice to accompany residents to another city for extended periods if required.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and follows corporate safety policy.
  • Participates in safety meetings, training, and goals.
  • Identifies safety concerns and communicates with supervision.
  • Ensures safety and security of all children and operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience with children in child welfare, medical, or social service settings is required.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Texas Driver’s License; TB screening showing no contagious TB.
