Job Details

• Position: Youth Care Worker, Unaccompanied Alien Children Services Program
• Department: Family Support Services
• Reports To: Lead Shift Youth Care Worker

Program Overview

CGS's Unaccompanied Alien Children Services Program serves children/youth presenting challenging behaviors, especially related to trauma. Staff are bilingual (Spanish/English) and trained in refugee needs and TF-CBT. The program offers a safe, family-like environment respecting cultural, ethnic, religious, dietary, language, and gender needs. The program operates under the supervision of the Program Director.

Responsibilities

1. Provide a warm, supportive environment fostering positive growth and development.
2. Supervise daily activities, including wake-up, school, meals, chores, and bedtime.
3. Monitor physical health, clothing, nutrition, and medical treatments.
4. Communicate rules and discipline positively and fairly.
5. Transport children for activities and appointments.
6. Maintain a clean, hazard-free household and complete chores.
7. Prepare meals according to menus and manage petty cash.
8. Complete reports and logs; participate in meetings and training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of professional child care experience preferred
• Valid NY Driver's License
• Proficiency in Spanish
