Job summary

Walton Academy for Growth and Change in DeFuniak Springs, FL is hiring a Youth Care Worker to provide 24-hour supervision for youth in a high-risk residential program for males aged 13–19. Four weeks of paid training is provided.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with 40 college hours or one year of youth experience, plus a valid driver’s license. Schedule is 3.5 days per week; pay starts at $19/hour with bi-weekly pay and a $1,000 bonus after completing the Essential Skills

• Experience in organized group activities with youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor youths and support learning and development within the program.
• Complete four weeks of paid training for new staff.

Located near the white sand beaches of Northwest Florida in DeFuniak Springs - At Walton Academy, we provide residential treatment to improving the lives of Youth through mental health and substance abuse services. We offer skills and opportunities to our youth from Carpentry/Home Building to Culinary Arts.

Pay: Starting at $19 per hour, paid bi-weekly.

What you will do: As a Youth Care Worker, you will provide 24-hour security and supervision to always ensure the safety of our Youth at a HIGH-RISK residential treatment DJJ program for male youths between the ages of 13-19. You will monitor and document behaviors, monitor and join the Youth during Sports and Recreation time and assist and mentor the youth while they learn and develop within the program. Four weeks of paid training is provided to all new staff.

To be considered you should: Possess a High School Diploma or GED and 40 hours of college education OR have one-year experience working with youth in organized group activities and possess a valid Driver’s License.

Schedule: Our Youth Care Workers currently work 3.5 days per week. This gives our Youth Care Workers 3.5 days off each week.
