Positive Alternatives in Amery, Wisconsin is seeking a Youth Care Worker to facilitate a positive environment for teenage residents. Responsibilities include leading activities, engaging with residents, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to type and document daily activities.
• Must be caring and resilient.
• Previous experience working with an adolescent population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leading daily programming activities and promoting positive participation.
• Engaging with residents through recreational activities, groups, meals, and other aspects of daily living.
• Responding to critical resident needs as they arise.
• Participating in developing and maintaining a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment.
• Actively participating in house and team meetings.
• Attending initial and ongoing training sessions.

Skills

Experience with caregiving

Experience working in schools or childcare

Experience working in law enforcement or corrections

Experience working at youth camps

Experience volunteering in a helping role

Education

Degree in human services, behavioral counseling, criminal justice, or related field
