Job summary

AMIkids, Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking a Youth Care Specialist to supervise and guide youth in care, teaching essential social, self-help, academic and living skills on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule. Weekend rotations and 12-hour shifts may apply, including overnight coverage.

The role emphasizes safety, behavior guidance, and using the AMIkids Way and Structured Growth Model to foster meaningful participation, community involvement and personal growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (degree preferred).
• Minimum one year of related experience in an educational or youth service program.

Responsibilities

• Direct and safely supervise youth in care.
• Provide guidance in behavior choices by teaching social, self-help, academic and living skills.
• Implement AMIkids Way and Positive Youth Development elements in interactions with students.
• Prevent and intervene in youth altercations using state-mandated training.
• Coach youth in personal responsibility, social and community living skills.
• Supervise overnight shifts and conduct bed checks per schedule.
• Complete required shift documents and incident reports.
