Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Youth Watch Attendant to supervise children in the Kroc Jr and Kroc Discovery programs. This part-time, non-exempt role emphasizes safety, engagement, and supportive interaction with children, parents, and volunteers.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, ensuring cleanliness, following safety policies, and assisting with check-in/out procedures, with a focus on a Christian-centered environment and positive discipline.

Qualifications

• Education – Preferred classwork in childhood development or related field.
• Work/Professional Experience – Have at least one year of successful experience working with children.
• Other –Bilingual language skills desirable. Ability to pass a child safety background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to customers, clients, and members.
• Greet customers and assist in FAE Programs.
• Follow all Child Safety policies and procedures in accordance with Kroc operations.
• Relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages and abilities.
• Maintain vigilant supervision at all times.
• Organize and participate in age appropriate intellectual and physical activities.
• Read to children and teach simple painting, drawing, songs, and similar activities.
• Facilitate check in and out procedures and maintain rosters/logs.
