Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Salem, OR is seeking a Youth Watch Attendant to supervise children from 4 months to 13 years in a warm, Christian-centered environment. This part-time role requires engaging activities, vigilant safety, and clear communication with families.

You will support programs in Fine Arts & Education, lead age-appropriate activities, and ensure clean, orderly childcare spaces while following all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of successful experience working with children.
• Education in childhood development preferred.
• Bilingual skills desirable; ability to pass child safety background clearance.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required or obtainable within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise large and small groups of children in Kroc Jr and Kroc Discovery.
• Maintain safety, order and cleanliness of childcare rooms.
• Interact with children, parents and volunteers in a positive, caring manner.
• Follow center policies and report safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with activities, check-in/out, and rosters per room protocol.
