Job summary

Nevada Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Group Supervisor 2 at Summit View Youth Center in Las Vegas. This role oversees juvenile offenders, guides behavior, and participates on a treatment team to implement plans for rehabilitation.

The position requires strong communication, supervisory experience, and the ability to de-escalate crises while maintaining professional conduct with staff and youths. Work includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, or closely related field.
• One year of experience working with the public or clients which included coordinating or supervising work in custodial, employment, therapeutic, educational, recreational, or correctional settings.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent education with three years of relevant experience including coordinating or supervising work.
• One year as a Group Supervisor I in Nevada State service or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of youths within the assigned unit and monitor behavior to ensure rules are followed.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team to implement a treatment plan and document progress.
• Conduct intake interviews, review case history, and document personal and medical data.
• Perform security checks, head counts, searches, and ensure safety of residents and facility.
• Respond to emergencies and apply appropriate interventions to control disruptive behavior.
• Maintain individual case records and incident reports for review by staff and supervisors.
• Instruct youths in life, educational and vocational skills and monitor progress.
• Coordinate schedules with the facility's program and security needs.
