Job summary

Jacksonville Youth Academy is seeking a Youth Care Worker (Coach Counselor) to provide round-the-clock safety and support for male youth in a 24-bed program in Jacksonville, FL. You will mentor youth, assist with daily living skills, and document progress as part of a collaborative treatment team.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are at least 21, and can pass background, drug, TB screening and registry checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Ability to pass a TB test and registry checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person safety and security around-the-clock.
• Meet physical, personal and health needs through mentoring and skill development.
• Monitor and document behaviors and activities; participate in educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other staff to meet each youth's treatment plan goals.
