Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) seeks a Behavioral Health Respite Treatment Advocate to support adolescents, youth, and families in Franklin County across home, community, and office settings. This hands-on role provides advocacy and respite care for individuals with mental and behavioral health diagnoses.

The position requires 40 hours weekly with at least one weekend day and flexible after-school hours, offering meaningful direct service and community collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree; GED/HS accepted if needed.
• Experience in child welfare preferred.
• Daily travel with flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
• Reliable telephone and basic tech skills (PCs, smartphones, printers).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop youth treatment/service plans with the team.
• Build trusting relationships with youth and help achieve goals.
• Provide 1-on-1 activities per treatment plan.
• Document conversations and outcomes, and submit billing paperwork.
• Identify community resources for youth development.
• Provide transportation to activities as needed.
