Catholic Charities of Baltimore seeks a Behavioral Specialist to provide crisis support and therapeutic intervention for youth aged 5-13 in our St. Vincent’s Villa program.

The role requires Trauma Informed Care, CARE, and TCI training, plus ability to de-escalate and guide staff during crises. Qualifications

• High school diploma and 4 years’ experience with children or special populations.
• TCI training within 2 months and CARE training within 3 months provided after hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to residential or school youth to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Interact with youth and model CARE, TIC and TCI principles for coworkers.
• Use the CARE model to influence and guide interactions with youth, families, and colleagues.
• Assess volatile situations and de-escalate problems using verbal de-escalation, proximity control, voice and touch control, and personal restraint.
• Apply responses aligned with each youth’s Treatment Plan, ICMP, and the Behavioral Treatment System policies.
