North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) through Murdoch Developmental Center is hiring a Youth Program/Education Assistant II. This role provides specialized direct services to extremely behaviorally-challenged individuals and supports health care tasks as needed.

The position emphasizes behavioral programming, habilitative activities, crisis intervention and training, with shifts 6:30 am to 3:00 pm and possible weekend/holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in human services or related field with two years of related experience or HS diploma with four years of related experience.
• Experience with behavior support plans and crisis management.
• Ability to report orally and in writing and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of emotional needs of individuals.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized direct services to extremely behaviorally-challenged individuals.
• Lead training in behavioral programming and activities of daily living.
• Assist with health care needs and emergencies as needed.
• Respond to crises and make on-the-spot decisions while maintaining a safe environment.
