Job summary

The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) seeks a Program Specialist (High School Academic Tutor/Behavioral Coach) to provide academic tutoring and behavioral coaching during school hours and after-school programs. You will mentor high school students in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and related activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with teachers and staff, delivering 1:1 social-emotional support, and creating engaging project-based learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields preferred plus 2 years of youth development or academic support experience.
• Experience in youth development and facilitating enrichment activities.
• Bilingual in Spanish and Cantonese/Mandarin preferred.
• Ability to lift/move at least 25 lbs and work with diverse youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring in core subjects and behavioral coaching.
• Coordinate with school day teachers, counselors, and after-school staff.
• Provide 1:1 social emotional learning support and behavioral coaching.
• Develop incentive plans and project-based learning activities.
• Support outreach to recruit and retain youth in programs.
• Maintain a positive, safe learning environment and restorative practices.
