Job summary

City of Durango seeks a Youth Basketball Scorekeeper to run the scorer’s table, manage the game clock, track fouls and timeouts, and maintain accurate scores as youth teams play. You’ll prep before games and collaborate with referees and recreation staff to ensure a positive experience for players and fans.

ideal candidates will have knowledge of basketball, strong reading/writing skills, and prior scorekeeping experience; CPR/First Aid certs are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basketball rules and scorekeeping basics.
• Ability to read and write at a level needed to perform the job.

Responsibilities

• Keep score and game time using the scoreboard.
• Record fouls, timeouts, scoring, and other game details on the score sheet.
• Arrive 30 minutes before games to assist with setup.
• Support respectful game environment with gym supervisor and staff.
• Submit timecard for hours worked.
• Assist with incident or accident reports when needed.
• Help with post-game cleanup and lost-and-found items.
