Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Prevention/Intervention Assistant for Sparks Middle School to implement a prevention-intervention model, promoting academic success and higher graduation rates. You will work with families, schools, and community partners to identify truancy causes and create supportive solutions.

The role involves MTSS case management, home visits, mentoring students, and coordinating with district resources to ensure student success and timely program delivery through June

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college desirable.
• Two (2) years of experience with students or parents in school or community settings.
• Preferred: 30 semester or 45 quarter units in psychology, sociology, social work or related field.

Responsibilities

• Promote school attendance and serve as a child advocate.
• Coordinate Community Support Team and MTSS caseload reviews.
• Support identification of at-risk students and provide follow-up case management.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to develop re-entry and support plans.
• Conduct home visits and develop prevention/empowerment activities for youth.
