Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Prevention/Intervention Assistant to support students and families in reducing truancy and improving academic outcomes. You will work with site administration, teachers, and community partners to implement a prevention-intervention model that promotes attendance and graduation.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; some college desirable.
• Two years of experience with students or parents in school or community settings.
• Knowledge of Nevada State Standards, truancy issues, and district resources.
• Licenses/Certificates: Nevada driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for student attendance and support MTSS case reviews.
• Coordinate Community Support Team meetings and liaise with families, schools, and agencies.
• Provide home visits to identify barriers to attendance and plan supports.
• Develop youth prevention/empowerment activities with school counselors.
• Maintain case records and communicate progress to stakeholders.
