Job summary

Capital Region Educational Service District 113 is seeking a Prevention-Intervention Professional to support True North Student Assistance programs in Mason County, WA. This 180-day/year role involves prevention, intervention, and referrals for students and families impacted by behavioral health conditions, promoting a safe and drug-free learning environment.

The position reports to the Clinical Supervisor and requires collaboration with school staff, families, and community partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
• Education (Minimum): Targeted, job related education with study in job-related area.
• Equivalency: Prevention Intervention Professional requires a HS Diploma and an Agency Affiliated Counselor credential.
• Education Levels: HS Diploma, AA, BA, MA - Agency Affiliated Counselor - Range 37.

Responsibilities

• Screens, interventions, and referrals to identify behavioral health issues in compliance with laws and policies.
• Educate staff, students, and parents on programs including drug/alcohol awareness and mental health promotion.
• Establish a visible campus presence to increase awareness and identification of behavioral health issues.
• Facilitate behavioral health intervention groups focusing on substance use and mental health.
• Maintain student records and intervention files for documentation and compliance.
• Participate in committees and activities (e.g., Student Assistance Teams, CORE) to support services.
• Perform record keeping, data entry, and scheduling to ensure program success.
• Respond to inquiries and act as liaison between school and systems partners (juvenile justice, behavioral health).
• Utilize evidence-based practices (motivational interviewing, TRAILS, Project SUCCESS) for interventions.
